Are you using an audio/video receiver to switch between your devices? Some receivers may not accurate pass through the signal from your PS4, which can lead to handshake/recognition issues. A cable capable of transmitting Ultra HD/4K signals will be clearly labeled "high speed." Also, note that 4K and HDR signals require a so-called "High-Speed HDMI Cable." Don't worry about numbers or other designations. Your cable may be damaged, even if you cannot see the damage from outside, or you may be using the wrong cable.

By using a different screen, you may be able to see if the issue is caused by the console or your other TV and you'll be able to access the PlayStation 4's Sound and Screen menu and manually set the video output settings to a configuration compatible with your preferred display device. You will now be able to select a solution your TV actually supports (consult your manual) - or start with a low resolution and work your way up. You can now select the Change Resolution option and your PS4 will restart. Now, hold the power key and keep pressing it until once again you hear a second beep. Basically, the communication between the television/HDMI cable and the console fails to interpret the PlayStation's output signal and reconcile it with the television's native output capacity. Since the PS4 can output a variety of resolutions and display modes (including 720p, 1080p, 4K, HDR, etc.), it can happen that your display and console aren't "talking to each other." The most common issue is a resolution mismatch - you have turned on a setting that your TV doesn't support or the PS4 may have misdetected your TV's abilities and is sending the wrong signal. Your PS4 or PS4 Pro's signal is not recognized by the TV - or the PlayStation is not detecting the right settings for the TV.
